We’ve changed our name! On 19th February, 2016, Azafady UK became SEED Madagascar, an acronym that reflects our core mission and practice – Sustainable Environment, Education and Development in Madagascar.
SEED Madagascar is an award-winning British registered charity (number 1079121) partnered with an independent Malagasy NGO. Founded in 1994 with the name ‘Azafady’, we work on a wide range of projects both within the town of Fort Dauphin and with numerous rural communities across the Anosy region. Stitch Sainte Luce is a project of SEED Madagascar, operating from both the London and the Madagascar office with project staff employed by SEED Madagascar. The Stitch studio is based right next to the SEED Conservation camp in Sainte Luce.
With our new name and identity, we’re expanding our role as one of the leading capacity building organisations in the region, and plan to partner a range of organisations – setting up a network of people and groups with the skills and support they need to take hold of Madagascar’s future with both hands. Our focus will remain on the Anosy Region and you will see many of the same faces working with us on the projects that make so much difference to people’s lives.
